1. Start with Flim, or load your own. Standard MIDI formats 0 and 1 work here. Files stay in your browser. Track and channel parts are separated; drum parts are split into kick, snare, hats and other percussion.
2. Select a layer. Mute it, listen alone, or adjust its level. The controls on the right affect that layer only. Material changes the instrument playing its notes.
3. Explore the four control banks. Tone changes its surface; Space changes its surroundings; Time changes its pacing; Shape rearranges its notes. Already scheduled notes can take half a second to catch up. Existing notes finish naturally.
4. Touch the visual. Field: left/right moves the sound; up/down opens or softens tone. Score: click to seek. Space: drag an orb above YOU for front, below YOU for behind; dragging stops its automatic orbit. All gestures have equivalent sliders.
Hold this moment captures the selected layer’s current chord and repeats it until released. A/B compares your changes against the original note arrangement with our default instruments. Reset layer starts that layer over.
These are synthesized interpretations of MIDI, not the original recordings. Pitch bends and detailed MIDI controller performances are not imported. Grain breaks synthesized notes into small pulses; it does not sample the original recording.
