The Experience

Place.Interact.Capture.

Surface detection anchored Tako in the user’s surroundings, while touch controls let users move the character.

Idle movements and happy or sad reactions gave Tako a range of responses to frame and capture.

Bringing Tako to Life

Dentsu created the character and visual direction. Blue Bucket developed the interactive AR experience.

Meta Spark Studio’s scripting and Patch Editor connected surface detection, placement, touch controls and animation states.

The Build

The challenge was to keep placement stable and touch responses predictable across different surroundings.

The animation transitions were refined to retain the original character’s personality as Tako responded in AR.
